Modemix is building the fastest way to get around in cities.
Most people think the future of transportation is autonomous cars. But autonomous cars don't scale; they get stuck in traffic. Modemix is approaching transportation from first principles.
About the role
Modemix is our number one priority and we make significant sacrifices daily. We typically work all day (10 to 12 hours), and on weekends when needed.
You will join as a core builder with real autonomy and influence over technical direction. You won't be someone executing predefined tasks.
You will not be working on the Modemix app. You will be working on a new type of vehicle for transporting humans.
You will own substantial equity in what you're building.
Requirements
- You are an experienced urban cyclist with a deep understanding of how to ride safely
- History of solving extremely hard problems
- Exceptional communicator
Good to have
- Strong background in computer vision and machine learning
- Strong fundamentals in optimization and inverse problems
- First author publications in CVPR, NeurIPS, ICML, etc.
- Experience working with very large datasets
- Experience working on autonomous cars
- Ph.D. in something related to optimization, machine learning, etc.
- Risk taker
Compensation
- $150k to $240k base salary + 0.5% to 4% equity
- Free food at work
